Comrades SACCO: From 3-Day Loan Processing to 20 Minutes

Comrades SACCO Uganda is a registered savings and credit cooperative based in Kampala. When they approached Waesta Enterprises in 2023, their loan management was entirely manual — paper forms, spreadsheets, and a three-day minimum turnaround for any loan decision.

The Challenge

Like many growing SACCOs in Uganda, Comrades SACCO was managing over 800 active members with a combination of spreadsheets and handwritten ledgers. The main pain points were:

• Loan applications took 3–5 days to process because approvals required physical documents to pass through multiple officers
