About Waesta Enterprises U Ltd
Waesta Enterprises U Ltd is a software development agency based in Kampala, Uganda. We build custom enterprise software, web platforms, and digital solutions for businesses across Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. We have been operating since 2014 — more than a decade of building systems that run real African businesses.
Who We Are
We are a team of software developers, UX designers, and project managers who understand the specific constraints and opportunities of East African business operations. We build for mobile-first users, mobile money payment ecosystems, and networks that are sometimes unreliable — because that is the environment our clients actually operate in.
Our work spans 15+ enterprise software systems used daily by SACCOs, pharmacies, law firms, hotels, associations, schools, and retailers across the region. Every product we ship has MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money integration, works offline when internet drops, and is priced in UGX, KES, or TZS.
Our Story
Waesta was founded in 2014 with a simple conviction: businesses in East Africa deserve software built for their context, not adapted from elsewhere. Too many Ugandan and Kenyan businesses were paying for software designed for European or American markets — software that didn’t understand mobile money, didn’t handle local currencies properly, and needed always-on internet to function.
We started by building websites and small custom tools. Over time, clients kept asking us to solve deeper operational problems. That led us to build SaccoVault for SACCO management, WAPOS for retail and hospitality, Pharma360 for pharmacies, and a growing suite of systems now used across the region.
Today Waesta is a full-service digital agency with a product portfolio of 15+ enterprise systems and an active client base spanning Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
Our Values
Innovation
We continuously embrace new approaches to deliver efficient, reliable solutions. When mobile money became Uganda’s dominant payment method, we built it into every system before any competitor asked.
Customer Focus
We measure success by whether our clients’ operations actually improve. A system that looks good but doesn’t get adopted has failed. We stay engaged until the software is being used effectively.
Integrity
We are transparent about timelines, costs, and limitations. We tell clients what we can and cannot do before taking their money, not after.
Excellence
We hold ourselves to high quality standards in design, development, testing, and support. Every system we ship is documented, tested on real devices, and handed over with full training.
Agility
East African markets move fast. We build systems that can evolve — new payment rails, new regulations, new operational requirements — without a full rebuild every time something changes.
Our Approach
We don’t drop a generic template and walk away. Every Waesta engagement follows four stages:
- Discovery: We spend time understanding your operations before we spec anything. This saves months of rework later.
- Design & Specification: You review and approve wireframes and a detailed project specification before development begins. No surprises.
- Build & Test: Agile delivery with weekly demos. We test on real Ugandan devices and networks throughout — not just on fast office wifi.
- Deploy, Train & Support: We handle data migration, staff training, and go-live support. And we stay available after launch.
